Description

The Romain-Caron covered bridge, dating from 1940, is the last remaining bridge of its kind in Témiscouata. Designated a heritage building in 2006 by the municipality of Saint-Jean-de-la-Lande, it was completely restored in 2010. Since the summer of 2025, new illuminated interpretive panels have been installed to highlight its history and unique charm.

The site comes alive all summer long: a big country day awaits you on August 22, 2026, and several free shows are offered on Sunday afternoons. To make sure you don't miss anything, follow the municipality's Facebook page.

Closed to traffic, it is crossed by the Le Méruimticook bike path (tour of Lake Gerry). Close to this infrastructure is a large covered stage, a welcoming gazebo, and the celestial garden. The place offers a peaceful and inspiring setting. A perfect stop for a discovery break during your visit to the region!

  • Operating Period May to October
